Lifeview residents, families celebrate another fun-filled 95+

Lifeview has celebrated another successful annual 95+ Celebration event at Settlers Run Golf and Country Club.

The Melbourne aged care provider hosts the day to celebrate its oldest residents – those aged 95 and over.

Residents and families celebrated the fun-filled day, as they were treated to a delicious high tea, refreshments, and a live music performance that inspired plenty of dancing throughout the afternoon.

Lorraine, a resident at Lifeview The Willows, had the honour of joining Lifeview Executive Director Peter Reilly OAM and CEO Samantha Jewell to cut the magnificent 95+ cake.

Attendees had a wonderful time at the event, which is held each year on the ninth day of the fifth month (May 9) – hence the “95” reference.

"It's always a special day the 95+ Celebration, and it's something very unique to Lifeview," Social Support, Events and Diversity Manager Annitta Macauley said.

"It's always an honour to be able to host the residents and their families, who really embrace the day and have a great time."

The musical entertainment, Glenn Starr, brought plenty of energy, rocking the room and engaging the attendees with a hit parade of classic sing and dance-along numbers.

The 95+ event is one of several on the Lifeview calendar aimed at giving residents the opportunity to dress up, socialise and have a great day out. Other events include the annual Positive Ageing Celebration (PAC) held in October, and the annual Lifeview Birthday Party in September.

In addition to those events, Lifeview homes host multiple "theme days" throughout the year, special events for Nutrition and Hydration Week, Men's Health Week, the Globetrotting cultural program, and of course the annual residence Christmas parties.
