Meet Lifeview’s Executive Management Team


Peter Reilly OAM
Executive Director

Peter has been in senior business management for over 30 years and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Institute of Chartered Accountants. He spent 7 years as the director of various aged care residences and previously worked for PriceWaterhouse, AUSDOC Group and CPI Group. Peter enjoys the friendly environment at Lifeview and thrives on tough challenges. He is a lifelong supporter of the arts, particularly opera and ballet, serves as Treasurer of ABLE Australia, and is a board member of the Dame Nellie Melba Opera Trust. During his downtime, Peter keeps fit at the gym, enjoys live performances and dining out.

James van Beek
Chief Financial Officer

James brings 18-plus years experience in senior financial and operational management to Lifeview.  A Certified Practising Accountant, James has a Bachelor of Business Accounting and is a member of Certified Practising Accountants Australia. James’ record of success in delivering sustainable profit growth and operational efficiencies in high level professional sporting organisations, including two AFL clubs, along with the racing, wagering and international merchandising industries, assists in driving Lifeview’s commercial success.  An avid sports fan, James has travelled the world attending marquee events such as the Super Bowl and Formula One races.

Rebecca Phillips
Executive Manager - Clinical Governance

A Registered Nurse, having worked at some of Melbourne’s major hospitals including the Austin, Bethlehem and Caulfield Hospitals, and holding a Diploma in Dementia, Rebecca has a passion for person-centred dementia care. With extensive experience in the aged care sector including working for the Complaints Investigation Scheme and the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission, as an assessor and decision maker, as well as working in the Ombudsman and Commissioner's offices – Rebecca’s experience guides Lifeview’s team of clinical specialists in ensuring the best clinical care for all who chose to live with us.  Away from work Rebecca loves travel, reading and running a community based book club, and spending time with her rescue dog, Wilma, a regular and very welcome visitor to Lifeview homes.

Swati Chakravarty
Executive Manager People & Culture

With over 30-years in Human Resources Management, in both Australia and India, Swati’s experience covers transport logistics, banking and finance, rail transport, legal, manufacturing, FMCG and the aged care sectors for companies such as ANZ Bank, Pacific Brands, Metro Trains Melbourne and BlueCross.  A Human Resources generalist Swati specialises in organisational change and development along with employee and industrial relations.  Swati’s expertise in the recruitment of skilled personnel, building and growing teams, and organisational change management, along with staff engagement, and wellbeing programs, supports Lifeview’s workforce as it grows and adapts to the changing aged care landscape. Married with two children, Swati would love a quiet moment to read a book or to indulge her passion for travel.

James Muzzell
Chief Operations Officer

Formerly serving as Lifeview’s Executive Manager Property, and holding a Certificate IV in Building and Construction, James brings a passion for making a positive change to the lives of Lifeview’s residents, ensuring their home environment is safe, functional and to their liking. Managing a team of Residential Managers, Hospitality and Maintenance professionals, James oversees the day to day operations of all Lifeview homes as well as working alongside the development team on green and brownfield developments. He is a people person who enjoys travelling, socialising with friends and playing golf.

Samantha Jewell
Executive Manager Marketing Engagement & Diversity

An all round marketer with 25-plus years experience in marketing and communications, media relations, and event management, the last fifteen in aged care and aged services, Samantha has a passion for working with the aged, and telling their stories. Previous senior marketing roles with Regis Aged Care and Australian Hearing ensure Samantha understands the landscape, in which we operate.  Samantha leads Lifeview’s Marketing, Events, Admissions and Lifestyle teams as well as the Pride Portfolio, including guiding and mentoring a team of Pride Champions, liaising with the wider LGBTI community and healthcare professionals. Outside of Lifeview Samantha enjoys the gym, cooking and touring small wineries with her husband.

Bianca Semrau
Executive Manager Quality, Risk & Compliance

A Compliance, Risk and Audit professional with over 15-years’ experience, with roles reporting into to Boards and Audit Risk Committees. Bianca has successfully promoted, implemented and embedded risk, compliance and control assurance frameworks across international environments. An Associate of both Risk Management and Compliance, Bianca’s focus at Lifeview, is on managing governance, quality assurance, compliance and risk management across the organisation.  Bianca strives to ensure Lifeview’s residents receive quality of care - all day, every day.


Gill Hynes
Customer Experience Champion / Resident Advocate

Gill has worked in aged care for more than 40 years and is passionate about achieving the best outcomes for all residents. In her role as Customer Experience Champion, she is committed to finding the most suitable home for those seeking a lifestyle at Lifeview. Gill joined Lifeview more than 20 years ago as a nurse and has since lent her hand as Clinical Care Coordinator and Assistant Residential Manager across Lifeview homes. What sets Gill apart in the industry is her warmth and natural ability to make people feel at ease. Her endearing personality, caring and genuine nature brings a sense of comfort to new residents, as she welcomes them to their new home.
