Meet Lifeview’s Executive and Senior Management Team

 

Peter Reilly OAM
Executive Director

Peter has been in senior business management for over 30 years and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Institute of Chartered Accountants. He spent 7 years as the director of various aged care residences and previously worked for PriceWaterhouse, AUSDOC Group and CPI Group. Peter enjoys the friendly environment at Lifeview and thrives on tough challenges. He is a lifelong supporter of the arts, particularly opera and ballet, serves as Treasurer of ABLE Australia, and is a board member of the Dame Nellie Melba Opera Trust. During his downtime, Peter keeps fit at the gym, enjoys live performances and dining out.

Samantha Jewell
Chief Executive Officer

Samantha has been with Lifeview for over 9-years and has a passion for equality, older Australians, their rights and delivering the best quality care possible for all who chose to live with us. An all round marketer with 25-plus years experience in marketing and communications, media relations, and event management, the last fifteen in aged care and aged services, Sam's affection for working with the aged, and telling their stories, has lead to Lifeview residents becoming media stars later in life. Previous senior marketing roles with Regis Aged Care and Australian Hearing ensure Samantha understands the landscape, in which we operate.  Prior to becoming CEO Samantha led Lifeview’s Marketing, Events, Admissions and Lifestyle teams as well as the Pride Portfolio, including guiding and mentoring a team of Pride Champions, liaising with the wider LGBTI community and healthcare professionals. Outside of Lifeview Samantha enjoys the gym, cooking and touring small wineries with her husband.

James Muzzell
Chief Operations Officer

Formerly serving as Lifeview’s Executive Manager Property, and holding a Certificate IV in Building and Construction, James brings a passion for making a positive change to the lives of Lifeview’s residents, ensuring their home environment is safe, functional and to their liking. Managing a team of Residential Managers, Hospitality and Maintenance professionals, James oversees the day to day operations of all Lifeview homes as well as working alongside the development team on green and brownfield developments. He is a people person who enjoys travelling, socialising with friends and playing golf.

Swati Chakravarty
Executive Manager People & Culture

With over 30-years in Human Resources Management, in both Australia and India, Swati’s experience covers transport logistics, banking and finance, rail transport, legal, manufacturing, FMCG and the aged care sectors for companies such as ANZ Bank, Pacific Brands, Metro Trains Melbourne and BlueCross.  A Human Resources generalist Swati specialises in organisational change and development along with employee and industrial relations.  Swati’s expertise in the recruitment of skilled personnel, building and growing teams, and organisational change management, along with staff engagement, and wellbeing programs, supports Lifeview’s workforce as it grows and adapts to the changing aged care landscape. Married with two children, Swati would love a quiet moment to read a book or to indulge her passion for travel.

Stephen Milsted
Executive Manager Hospitality

Born in Newcastle, England, Stephen immigrated to Australia in 1980. After his apprenticeship as a chef aged 20, he worked in Germany for 3-years which included the InterContinental Hotel Group Frankfurt, producing thousands of high-class meals and functions for dignitaries and world leaders. Stephen has managed his own businesses in Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland, as well as working in restaurants, hotels, clubs and cafes. He completed a Bachelors Degree in 1999 and has a Certificate IV in training and assessment. Stephen has been working in aged care for 15 years and enjoys working to make a difference to Lifeview and the residents we care for. With a passion for good quality food and wine, Stephen gets a lot of satisfaction in making people happy by producing good food. When travelling locally or overseas, he seeks out good local produce and finds fresh food markets to buy produce and cook for his family. Married to Bernadette who has Italian heritage, with two sons and four grandchildren, he now makes his own Italian tomato sauce, salami and olives, which sometimes make their way to Carnegie for the staff to sample in some way or another.  

Nancy Ochieng
Executive Manager Clinical Governance

Nancy joined Lifeview with experience in sub-acute geriatric nursing, aged care clinical nursing and management, clinical care training and assessment, and clinical compliance roles over the past 15 years in Australia.
Nancy trained as a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife in South Africa, and practised as a Registered Nurse in acute and medical wards in her home country, Kenya. Nancy holds a Master in Advanced Nursing Practice, a Diploma of Management and a Bachelor of Nursing Degree. Nancy is passionate about coaching and empowering nurses in their roles, and mentors graduate and postgraduate nurses through her alumni, the University of Melbourne. She enjoys various interests including long-bow archery and has recently begun learning golf.

James Reilly
Financial Controller

James is a long term employee of Lifeview, starting as a young graduate fifteen years ago. He has a double degree Arts / Commerce and a Post Graduate qualification as a Certified Practising Accountant. His areas of speciality include financial reporting, finance processes and controls. Outside of work, James enjoys playing golf down at Cape Schanck, live music, dining out with friends and family, and reading. He has many great experiences working at Lifeview, including doing the Dementia Australia Everest Base Camp Trek in 2018.

Katy Cavanagh
Dementia Support Manager

Katy started her career working in early childhood education, followed by acute care in the hospital setting. Looking for leadership opportunities, Katy began working with Lifeview in 2013, first as a nurse, then Clinical Care Coordinator, and then manager at Argyle Court, The Willows and Willow Wood. Katy moved into her current Dementia Support Manager role in mid-2022. In this role, Katy’s passion for making a difference in the lives of those living with dementia is the driving force behind new training, education and engagement programs for all staff, as well as family and resident education. Katy has studied different models of care including Eden and the Butterfly model. Currently studying for a Diploma of Dementia Care at the University of Tasmania, Katy's interests are music and art, to engage people. She also loves being an auntie!

 

Ian Manning
Learning and Development Manager

Ian's work experience includes leading teams in hospitals, the residential aged care sector, quality management, learning platform support, instructional design and coordinating nationally recognised education courses within the TAFE sector. He is passionate about helping people reach their full learning potential and enjoys creating positive learning experiences for staff. Ian first qualified as a Registered Nurse over 30 years ago and holds additional qualifications in education and IT. Outside of work Ian enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading (particularly SCI-FI), golf and home renovation.

Annitta Macauley
Social Support and Events Manager

Before Lifeview, Annitta worked in disability for 18-years. She started at Lifeview as a Social Support Assistant and then was promoted to Social Support Coordinator. In 2019, she became the Social Support and Events Manager. Annitta has a Diploma in Business Administration, a Diploma in Leadership and Management, is a qualified grief counsellor and has a Certificate III and IV in aged care with a major in lifestyle. Her areas of speciality are grief, lifestyle, music and arts. Annitta is passionate about finding meaningful activities for residents. Her hobbies include arts and crafts, spending time with family, friends and her puppy, as well as music. Her favourite thing is to hear the residents singing along to music!

Lisa Christopher
Education Manager

Lisa commenced with Lifeview in 2011, as a Personal Care Attendant, then Endorsed Enrolled Nurse, Registered Nurse, Clinical Coach and currently as the Education Manager. Lisa is passionate about providing the best clinical care outcomes for the residents and that is why she has moved into an education role, to share her knowledge and improve resident care. The thing she prefers about working in aged care is building relationships with residents and their families. Her areas of interest are clinical education, dementia care, wound care and palliative care. Lisa is also an Infection Prevention Control Lead, Pride Champion, and Ally of the LGBTIAQ+ community. She has a Certificate III in Aged Care, a Diploma and Bachelor of Nursing and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. Lisa's interests include reading novels, watching crime shows/documentaries and Ru Paul's Drag Race, and spending time with family and dog Marvin, who is a frequent visitor at Lifeview homes.

Gill Hynes
Customer Experience Champion / Resident Advocate

Gill has worked in aged care for more than 40 years and is passionate about achieving the best outcomes for all residents. In her role as Customer Experience Champion and Resident Advocate, she is committed to finding the most suitable home for those seeking a lifestyle at Lifeview and ensuring residents are represented and heard. Gill joined Lifeview more than 20 years ago as a nurse and has since lent her hand as Clinical Care Coordinator and Assistant Residential Manager across Lifeview homes. What sets Gill apart in the industry is her warmth and natural ability to make people feel at ease. Her endearing personality, caring and genuine nature brings a sense of comfort to new residents, as she welcomes them to their new home.
