Situated in a quiet and peaceful area of Wheelers Hill, The Willows is a warm, inviting, 60-bed home offering ageing-in-place. Local attractions include Jells Park, Monash Library, Monash Gallery of Art and nearby The Glen shopping centre.
Wheelers Hill is known for its trees and beautiful parklands that make up much of this leafy area. Directly across the road from The Willows is the Monash Gallery of Art, perfect for an afternoon stroll around the lake, feeding the ducks or viewing artworks. Other local amenities include The Wheelers Hill Hotel, Mulgrave Country Club, supermarket, cafés and various stores.
The Willows has plenty of bright, sunny living areas where residents can relax, read from a selection of books from the on-site library, enjoy a game of darts, or take in a movie in our cinema. Residents can be pampered in the beauty and hair salon, and there are raised garden beds for those who wish to indulge their green thumbs by growing plants, fruits, vegetables and herbs.
Home Features
Rooms are single and well appointed with new en suite bathrooms, built in wardrobes with a lockable cupboard, ceiling fans, and hydronic heating. Residents are encouraged to add personal touches with mementos, photos or furnishings. The Willows also has a resident laundry, for those who wish to maintain their own independence. Registered Nurses are onsite around the clock; we have an experienced approachable manager, a dedicated team of housemates and nurses, physiotherapist onsite and an energetic social support team, who together care for residents’ needs.
The Willows features Lifeview's award winning Home2Home (H2H) small house model of care. H2H is a relationship-based model, where multi-skilled staff (housemates), work with the same group of residents, all the time. H2H enables staff to spend more meaningful time within their household, creating better continuity of care and building on already established relationships.
Broaden Your Horizons
The Willows has a friendly, homely vibe with plenty of activities on offer through Lifeview’s Horizon Happenings program. The monthly Horizon Happenings calendar provides a variety of daily activities and exercises so there is something happening for everyone to help live the possibilities.
Themed events such Hawaiian afternoons, Chinese New Year, Oaks Day and special days such as Australia Day are specially celebrated at The Willows. Any reason to have a party, get dressed up, decorate and have fun, we’re living it. Residents also eagerly await the fortnightly Coffee Morning with Lifeview's Resident Advocate Gill.
Residents get out and about, with weekly bus outings. Keeping up community connections and discovering new possibilities is a big focus at Lifeview. That’s why we have our own Lifeview bus to chauffeur residents to local happenings.
At Lifeview we are all about “How Can We Help You”? Our goal is to make living at The Willows as comfortable and entertaining as possible for residents. That’s why we have implemented the 5 Ways to Make My Day and Magic Moments initiatives. The 5 Ways to Make My Day program is all about the small, but important things to each resident. These are individual and personal, helping us to care and laugh daily to make each resident’s day.
Magic Moments are just that. They are moments that are truly magic to our residents. At least once a year, it is our privilege to help make a wish come true. Residents look forward to this moment and talk about it for years to come. Residents family and friends are invited to come live this Magic Moment with us.
"What makes The Willows very special is the residents and staff come from so many different backgrounds and they share their culture, traditions and experiences with each other. It is one big family. We’ve got a great team of staff that provides individual care for the residents, and they are very compassionate about the care they give. I love my job here."
