Lifeview's Diversity Program Named QIP Chair Award Winner

Lifeview is celebrating being announced as the Excellence Winner of the QIP Chair Diversity Award and Highly Commended recipient of the QIP Chair Community Organisation of the Year Award, at the AGPAL & QIP 2018 Excellence Awards.

The awards, handed down on Friday night at Melbourne’s Grand Hyatt, recognise Lifeview’s Rainbow Tick accreditation and reward the commitment that the aged care provider makes to quality improvement within the health care setting.

The AGPAL & QIP Excellence Awards recognise Australian General Practice Accreditation Limited (AGPAL) and Quality Innovation Performance Limited (QIP) accredited practices, organisations or services, whichconsistentlygo above and beyond to implement and embed quality improvements, have teams that love to innovate, demonstrate a dedicated approach to patient and consumer services and/or care, and have a clear understanding of related industry standards. Each award category recognised an excellence recipient and a highly commended recipient.

Dr. Stephen Clark, QIP Chief Executive, said “The QIP Awards recognise and reward the commitment that Lifeview Residential Care makes to quality improvement within Australia’s health care setting. I was proud that I, and our judging panel of industry experts, was able to read about Lifeview’s nomination. Their dedication to their community and the local community goes above and beyond expected standards.”

“I congratulate Lifeview for being the 2018 Excellence Winner of the QIP Chair Diversity Award and Highly Commended for the QIP Chair Community Organisation of the Year Award. I would also like to thank all other nominees for sharing their stories,” Dr. Clark said.

Lifeview has implemented a number of special groups to engage with community members and consumers to ensure they receive the best support possible in a non-judgmental, safe and supportive environment. 

Achieving Rainbow Tick accreditation, and redesigning numerous systems, processes, strategies, organisational structures, training programs and service delivery to demonstrate their commitment to ensuring inclusiveness for members of the LGBTI-community. 

Based on their own experiences, Lifeview has developed a training program to assist other organisations to become more inclusive and they regularly undertake consultations with a range of stakeholders and providers to break down barriers, and improve the feeling of empowerment, and in some cases the feeling of unburdened.

Lifeview CEO Madeline Gall said, “We are honoured to have been recognised by the AGPAL & QIP Chair and judging panel for the work we are doing in ensuring inclusive care without fear or prejudice.  

“Gaining Rainbow Tick accreditation with QIP and making the finals of these awards, is entirely due to the dedication, and commitment of staff throughout the organisation.

“I would like to congratulate all our staff, residents and extended family on these achievements, without their engagement and support, this success would not be possible.’’

Award nominees submitted a nomination form self-assessing against key criteria. The judging process to identify the finalists, and subsequent excellence winner and highly commended recipient, was rigorous with a large number of nominations received. 

 QIP is a not-for-profit certification and accreditation organisation dedicated to supporting health and community services to manage safety, risk and quality through the provision of accreditation, certification and quality assurance services.
