Lifeview has donated $1527.05 to Companion Animal Network Australia (CANA) as part of its innovative Paying It Forward giving program.

Lifeview CEO Samantha Jewell joined CANA CEO Trish Ennis and staff at The Willows last week for the cheque handover.

“All the money that comes into CANA, and $1500, thank you so much, it goes towards rescues, adoptions, pet health care, so it’s supporting the animals directly,” Ennis said.

Lifeview and CANA have a well-established relationship with Lifeview homes proudly 100 per cent pet friendly.

“We have a lot of pets that live here at Lifeview,” Samantha said.

"It’s fantastic that residents can move in with their pet, it’s a really important part of that transition into care.

“You have to give up a lot when you move into care, why should you have to give up your fur baby?

“We encourage other providers to get on board and let pets into care because it’s a really important part of person-centred care.”

Lifeview’s Paying It Forward program recognises smaller charitable causes in the local areas in which Lifeview operates.

Previous recipients of donations include Emerald Kindergarten, the Women’s Spirit Project in Frankston, TeamSports4All in Chelsea and now CANA.

Funds are raised by residents and staff throughout Lifeview homes and the corporate office through various initiatives.

Almost $6000 has been raised so far through Paying It Forward, which was launched last April.
