Lifeview Globetrotting is Lifeview’s new cultural activity program, taking residents on an exciting journey around the globe through 2025.
In line with Lifeview’s philosophy – active, vibrant living – Lifeview Globetrotting will be full of active adventures, engaging residents in a vibrant way.
A far cry from the outdated notion of “armchair travel”, Lifeview aims to take its cultural activity program to another level following a successful Lifeview World Cruise last year.
In addition to aligning itinerary destinations with calendar events, such as St Patrick’s Day in March, Australian Outback for NAIDOC Week in July, India for the Diwali festival in October, and Mexico’s Day of the Dead in November, destinations are also chosen to celebrate the many cultures that make up Lifeview’s resident population.
“Each month will feature a variety of enjoyable activities designed to engage residents to be as active as possible,” Lifeview Social Support, Events and Diversity Manager Annitta Macauley said.
“We have pedometers that will measure steps for participating residents and staff at the homes, encouraging all involved to actively join in an intra-home ‘competition’ element to the program, while staff from all areas of the business will also host special activities throughout the year.
“Last year we had various staff teach Egyptian hieroglyphics, Italian language, Japanese origami, and lots more. Staff who have a connection to the culture we’re celebrating during each month will often volunteer their time to run these activities for the residents, which is fantastic.”
Lifeview Globetrotting kicks off in Asia in February, celebrating the many cultures that form the world’s largest continent.
